GOVERNOR DAVID A. PATERSON ANNOUNCES ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS
Governor David A. Paterson today announced nominations and appointments for several positions.
Pedro A. Noguera has been nominated as a Member of the State University of New York Board of Trustees. Dr. Noguera is currently a Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning and the Department of Social Science and Humanities of New York University. From 2000 to 2003, Professor Noguera was the Judith K. Dimon Professor of Communities and Schools in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. In the fall of 2003, he was the Sussman Visiting Professor of Education at Teachers College of Columbia University. From 1996 to 2000, Professor Noguera was an Associate Professor in the Division of Social and Cultural Studies at the Graduate School of Education at the University of California Berkeley and was an Assistant Professor from 1990 to 1996. Professor Noguera is the author of many books and refereed journal articles on education and sociology.
Professor Noguera received his BA and MA from Brown University and his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
